In my life this week…
We are making progress on making room for the window installers. The upstairs is ready to go. I’ll have to move some furniture but I will do that the evening before or the morning of. One of the advantages of being a SAHD. I will be home to keep track of everything and move stuff as necessary.
The week started out on a bad note with some plumbing issues. I pulled the plug to drain the kitchen sink after dishes and it poured straight into my cupboard and out on to the floor. Not fun. We got it all cleaned up and my wife managed to fix it at least long enough for us to get a plumber in the spring. We have other work that needs done so it mine as well be one trip.
In our homeschool this week…
We are making progress on our portfolio but with a short week we still have more to do. Fortunately I misread the notice so I have a week or two more. He finished of his timeline of the Railway (CPR). I wanted to take pictures of it but they didn’t come out as readable. The pencil was too light. He has finished his K’nex simple machines. I need to look through the video he did and see what he says. So almost done.
I think the biggest thing was telling my son about the cooking course that I signed him up for. One of the benefits of being homeschooled.
I’m cooking…
Somehow I ended up with the job of making heart shaped cookies for my littlest one’s preschool to decorate. I was going to use my dinner plate size cutter but my wife talked me into a lunch plate sized one. No surprise that they were a hit.
I’m grateful for…
Given that is Valentines Day I have to say my wife. Without her I would have to be working and this homeschooling journey would never be. There is some much more but that would be a lot of writing.
Something I am ogling or have my eye on…
More shelving. Its a good thing my wife loves books as much as I do.
A photo, video, link, or quote to share (silly, serious or both!)…
You know you are a homeschooler when curriculum invades your bedroom.
I have a new set of shelves in our bedroom for Ian’s learning trays and curriculum that we are not currently using.

I like the list on the white board. I used to do that and for some reason I stopped. You have reminded me that I should start that again. It is wonderful that homeschooling is so precious to you.
HI. Stopping in from iHomeschool. I would like more shelving too. Can’t seem to get enough. It might help if I was better at organizing the shelves I have. 😉
Looks you guys are making some great progress! I think you are the first person other than right after I setup the blog to translate the binary in my header image 🙂
Love your quote 😀 And I quite agree – you can never have too much shelving. I think I would have every a wall of shelving in every room if I could!
Lucinda (visiting via Hammock Tracks)
chris, Thanks for linking up to HammockTracks. I had a similar sink experience last week and totally derailed our school day. I hope you’ll return this week and that I’ll find you had a successful week.
