In my life this week…
Monday was a statutory holiday that do to where they were on their portfolios they did not get. We did have one of Margaret’s friends sleep over the Sunday night. Margaret was at a point with the portfolios that we didn’t need to worry about her. Philip on the other hand needed every minute he had.
We did have dinner with the other family. This time they brought stuff over. It was a wonderful treat. We had a lot of work to do so it removed one more stress. After dinner we had an interesting talk on our church and how we can help our youth. It was even more interesting given that their eldest daughter was there so we had her input as well. We so often as adults try to make these decisions without their input.
I’m Cleaning…
I’ll be back at it next week. I really want to tackle the old craft area off the laundry room as that is that last area that I haven’t touched. After that I need to start all over again but I was always planning a phase 2.

Lent is coming up on Wednesday and again this year I am going to be doing the 40 bags in 40 days challenge. I started a thread on Babycenter to share our progress and successes on. Anyone is welcome to join us.
I cleaned our dishwasher. Our dishes were no longer coming clean. I took it apart and for once didn’t take any pictures as it was too disgusting. There was rotting food stuck in the various pieces. It is now cleaning properly and I didn’t end up with any extra pieces.
In our homeschool this week…
This week has been all about finishing projects. Margaret is good, as is Ian. Philip will be working Saturday. Maybe… Maybe he will get the message that their is an easier way if he does his work on time rather than get distracted.
We finished filming our presentations. Now I need to make sure that I can display them on our new TV. I also need to make a check list of everything that I want to show her. A brief summary of some of the other stuff that we did that doesn’t have physical items would also be a good idea.
Next semester I want the kids supplying me a weekly report that I will incorporate in these posts. We’ll see if that actually happens or not…
We are Reading…
Philip read “Quantum Prophecy” by Michael Carroll. He was up to 1am finishing it one night and has the remaining three books in the series requested at the library. He has also finished reading “What’s Happening to my Body Book for Boys”
Margaret has been reading more “Emma Dilemma” books. She has also been reading a non fiction book called “The Green Chain: Nothing is ever Clear Cut” The book talks to people on both sides of the forestry industry in BC.
I’m Cooking…
I made a huge batch of chili that has been chili with bread, chili with tortilla chips, chili dogs and repeats of all of those. I filled the pot above.

Sounds like another fun and productive week even if Philip does need to work on Saturday! Chili sounds good!
I’ve done the 40 Bags in 40 Days challenge & succeeded. It feels great to get rid of unused clutter! We still have plenty more stuff around here, but I’m working on more bags. Chili sounds awesome! Do you use lots of beans? I’d like to make chili but no one is fond of beans around here.
I need to do the 40 bags, but just never get to it. It’s more like 40 bags in 1 day, eventually. Good luck on the portfolios.
Seems like you have made a lot of progress in the clutter department over the last year. I think I’ve done enough decluttering that I won’t manage 40 bags, but it is such a good time to focus on simplicity. I’ll be digging through the linen closet and book shelves to see what has accumulated.
