In my life this week…
We are starting our Homeschooling after the long weekend. So this week it was cleaning. I wanted to have a good starting point for this journey. I also completely cleaned out one of our cars of 10 years of kids stuff as we are preparing to sell the vehicle. I am also trying to realign my kids sleep schedule to a more reasonable time. Waking up at 11am is not going to work.
In our homeschool this week…
As we have not yet started it was all my last minute preparations. I got his online Rosetta Stone course setup. I found a headset that works for his practice. Can’t wait to get started
I am inspired by…
So many things have inspired me. I am feeling welcome in the various communities online and off that I have joined.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
We had dinner last Saturday with a a family of homeschoolers that was very informative. It was also good for my son to have someone to play with. They have a son that is the same age as my son. All kids get into trouble. With my son I know what to expect. With a new friend comes new ideas thus the discovery that they could climb onto the roof of the play structure. From there they managed to scramble onto the roofs of the sheds.
I’m reading…
I am quite enjoying the book and plan on getting my son to read it after I am done with it. It will probably be a blog post at some point.
I’m cooking…
We started out with a large beef roast on Saturday that fed my family and the the other plus gave us a second night same as the first. I made a seafood chowder for Sunday that also got us extra dinners. It also provided lunches for my wife. Thursday my wife was out for the evening so we had hot dog on the BBQ and carrot sticks. Tonight I have a giant ham to cook up with homemade Scalloped Potatoes.
I’m praying for…
There is a list of kids that I follow on CaringBridge that are fighting cancer that I pray for. All are currently doing well with ‘doing well’ being a relative term. So many of them are blessed with such a grace and understanding of God’s work. I remember one little boy upon meeting a homeless person and having it explained to him by his mom felt that he need to help this man.
